An old style mortise lock requires a pocket (the mortise) to be cut into the door or piece of furniture in which the lock is to be fitted. It includes the lock body installed inside the mortise cut-out in the door, and the lock trim and cylinder which are installed out the outside of the door. Some old style locks can be surface mounted, and do not require the mortise cut-out.

Ilco Old Style Mortise Locks are designed to be a reproduction of the mortise locks in homes and other buildings. They are available as a complete set with knobs, spindle, lock body, escutcheon, strike, screws and keys. Replacement “Crystal” glass knobs, brass knobs, etc. are also available.

Emtek Reproduction Locks are designed as distinctive hardware for fine homes. They are available in many different styles, designs, and finishes.
